Moscow [Russia], June 21: Drones have attacked an oil refinery in the western Siberian region of Tyumen, a senior Russian official said on Saturday. The facility was not damaged, according to the region's governor, Alexander Moor, who said workers were evacuated and emergency services were at the site of the resultant crash of debris. Tyumen is located approximately 2,000 kilometres from the border with Ukraine, which has been fighting with Western support to repel a full-scale Russian invasion since February 2022. Ukrainian drones frequently target oil industry infrastructure deep inside Russia, aiming to disrupt military fuel supplies and reduce oil revenues crucial for Moscow's war financing. Kiev has significantly intensified these counterattacks this year with apparent success. The government in Moscow has also imposed a ban on kerosene exports from Russia.
