Police discover arms, ammunition in S. Afghanistan

Kabul[Afghanistan], November 11: Police have discovered arms and ammunition including anti-aircraft guns in TirinKot city, the capital of south Afghanistan's Uruzgan province, a statement of the provincial directorate for Information and Culture said Saturday.
Acting on a tip-off, the units of police launched operations in TirinKot city recently and discovered a variety of arms and ammunition including an anti-aircraft gun DSHK, a ZU-23, a RPG-7, an 82 mm caliber gun, five hand grenades and thousands of bullets and projectiles, the statement added.
The statement did not say if anyone had been detained.
Previously, the security forces in identical operations discovered huge ammunition including 18 pieces of RPG-7 projectiles in the northern Jawzjan province a couple of weeks ago.
