Drug lord's son was arrested, riots broke out in Mexico

Mexico City [Mexico], January 7: The arrest of the son of drug lord Joaquin " El Chapo " Guzman led to deadly riots in Mexico , when the Sinaloa cartel launched an attack to free its "little boss".
After Mexico arrested Ovidio Guzman, nicknamed "El Raton" (Rat), on January 5 in the city of Culiacan, riots broke out across the state of Sinaloa in the country. Ovidio (32 years old) is the son of drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, who is being held in the US .
El Chapo is serving a life sentence in the US for smuggling hundreds of tons of drugs into the US over the course of 25 years. However, El Chapo 's Sinaloa cartel remains one of the most powerful in Mexico. The US accuses the gang of bringing fentanyl, a synthetic drug about 50 times stronger than heroin , into communities.
Ovidio's arrest angered the Sinaloa gang. They set fire to vehicles, blocked roads, and resisted security forces in and around Culiacan , the capital of Sinaloa. The arrest was the result of six months of tracking Ovidio, who allegedly helped run his father's operations since "El Chapo" was extradited to the US in 2017.
