2,000 sex worker families receive meat of Qurbani in Rajbari

Dhaka (Bangladesh), Aug 2: Families 2000 sex workers recieved meat of Qurbani ( sacrificial animal slaughter) on the day of the Eid-ul-Azha by the initiative of Uttoron Foundation managed by a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Dhaka range police in Rajbari.
After recieving the gift on Saturday from the hands of the law enforcers, sex workers from the Daulatdia brothel in Rajbari's Goalandaupazila said this is the first time they had recieved the meat of Qurbani. They said despite having a license for their work they are not allowed a namaz-e-janaza after death.
They also said that they will forever remember the act of love police showed as they have already been suffering from income shortage due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Rajbari Superintendent of Police (SP) Md Mizanur Rahman, Goalandaghat police station officer-in-charge Md Ashikur Rahman and Inspector Abdullah AL Tayabir were present at the distribution program.
Rajbari Superintendent of Police (SP) Md Mizanur Rahman said: "Chairman of UttoronFoundtion and Dhaka range police DIG Habibur Rahman gifted 1kg of meat to each of the 2,000 sex workers families in Daulatdia brothel."
